Yoga for Babies; Yoga for Pregnancy6 Jun 2007

Our Yoga for Babies class has been temporarily suspended, several of the participants having reached the "back to work" stage. Others are interested, and as soon as we can assemble five people, we will start running the class again. The same applies to our "Yoga for Pregnancy" class - temporarily suspended but ready to restart if there is sufficient demand. A special pregnancy membership is available for only £15; this can be converted to full membership later if you wish. Just register interest in either class at Reception or on admin@boco-uk.com

Insurance Cover for Pilates Lessons4 Jun 2007

At the recommendation of a physio, one of our members has embarked on a course of treatment comprising two Pilates one to one sessions, followed by eight lessons. The good news is that the treatment is going well and reducing the level of pain suffered. Almost as good is that the treatment is covered by her medical insurance. Something to think about if you have a medical condition which might benefit from either Yoga or Pilates, as a supplement to your practitioner's treatment.

A New Special Class on 14 July with Sonia. Is your Swiss Ball still flat or in its box? Learn how to use it effectively and enjoyably. Swiss ball exercises are particularly effective in toning the abdomen. If there is sufficient demand, this will become a regular class. YOGA IN THE PARK15 Sep 2006

Visitors to Painshill Park on 10 September were treated to a co-ordinated display of Yoga and some spectacular human pyramids. They were part of the Yoga Fun Day organised by Body Concepts. The event was also in aid of and supported by Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. The day included a Yoga Trail, with a quiz for children to answer questions based on a wide display of information about the body and how it works. Interested adults could take part in the demonstrations or try Yoga relaxation techniques for themselves in a Relax Room set in the Gothic Temple, with a beautiful view over the lake. The purpose of the day was to show that Yoga is fun and healthy and can be done anywhere. The display included examples of the increasing use of Yoga by international sportsmen such as Freddie Flintoff and Roy Keene. Ryan Giggs is another notable example, crediting Yoga with a substantial role in his return to fitness. He autographed a Manchester United tee shirt, which was donated for the Fun Day by the Iyengar Association of the UK. Displayed on the day, it will be auctioned by the Rainbow Trust at their Glass Slipper Ball later this year. Further information from 0208 398 4391 or www.boco-uk.com
