Just wanted to let you all know that I love the class and I think Lena is fantastic! It's so nice to have a good stretch after a day at work and from experience (I came to this class with my first pregnancy) I really find all of it really helpful, the breathing was a godsend during labour and the pelvic floor and stretching is all very much needed.  Much better online class than others I've been to. I love how Lena checks your form so much, essential, especially during pregnancy.

I know it's hard to judge the room on a Zoom but it's a thumbs up from me!

“Just to let you know how much I enjoyed today’s yoga session on Zoom. Once I’d sorted out where best to put my mat and where to position the iPad it was all very straightforward. I’ve been trying to do some home practice which has been fine as far as it goes. This was much more like being at a class. A longer session than I’d be able to do by myself and at the end I felt calm and refreshed - just like when I finish a yoga class at BoCo!”

“I'm really enjoying the classes and can hardly believe that I'm using zoom (although I'm still nervous). It's great that we are able to continue, I would really miss it, even though I'm doing yoga in my own home it's so different with a teacher. I thought it would be just like a yoga dvd (which I hate) so was sceptical at first but I'm totally converted now. “

“I am really enjoying my online Pilates classes with BoCo’s Aga each week. I find it all very straightforward as I don't have to leave the house and use up travel time, and can quickly and easily log in a couple of minutes before the lesson. It's really lovely to see Aga and the rest of my class, and we quickly say hello and get on with the lesson.

I can see Aga very clearly as she directs the camera on the relevant area of the body that we are working on, so it is straightforward to follow the moves, especially as she also clearly talks us through everything, and watches us closely to correct us and advise us, if needed.

Overall, it is lovely to connect with the class and I have a really great Pilates workout in the comfort of my own home. I really enjoy it and look forward to it, and it has really helped me to put some structure into my week during lockdown and to, of course, feel energised and my mood is boosted after having done a really good workout. I am really grateful to be able to continue the sessions during these times.”

“Thank you for the online class which was v much needed and I enjoyed it. May I say how easy the process was to download Zoom and login as well. Once logged in, I just had to find a spot to position my iPad so you could see me. As the class started your guidance throughout the class was v clear to hear and follow. In these very unprecedented times, if we could have more online classes, that would be amazing.”

At BoCo I am learning to re-connect with my body – to wake-up what has been sleeping as a result of injury and pain and age. I am able to do more, and now dare to expect more of myself. And this is all happening in an atmosphere of quiet confidence. And there is such delight and pleasure in the yoga and with the staff and members I meet.

Why I Use Yoga

“I have been doing various forms of exercise for a number of years but I have found all of them only partly satisfying; something was missing from the mix.
My initial approach to yoga was about pain relief from a long standing sport-related injury, but I quickly found that it gave me many added benefits, not least being an unexpected release of stress and the ability to get a good night’s sleep through the use of deep breathing.
I find that yoga is the ideal complimentary exercise and fitness regime. I do a lot of walking which unfortunately leads to tense leg muscles and in my case some lower back pain. Yoga helps me release this tension and has given me increased flexibility.
There are many levels of yoga practice. Do not be put off by the pictures that can be found on social media. It is not all about holding your body in contortion, it is about finding a practice that suits you and your body.”
