Kirtan - a journey through sound, to the heart of yoga  

Join us for Kirtan; an uplifting and healing sound meditation. 

We will be chanting simple yet powerful mantras together. It is open to all who wish to connect inwards and deepen their yoga practice. You do not have to be a singer to chant! We are simply using our own instrument to create a collective voice, and connect to our hearts through this meditative practice. 

Kirtan originated in Southern India as part of the Bhakti Yoga tradition, the Yoga of devotion. There has been an explosion of Kirtan in the yoga world in recent years, and it has spread joy, love and connection to those who practice.

There are some bolsters and blocks at the studio to sit on, however if you have a meditation cushion or chair you would like to use then you would be most welcome to bring it along.

1-2-1s and Private Sessions

A one-to-one session wiith a teacher – tailored to your individual needs.  Particularly helpful if: 

  • You’re recovering from an injury, or want to alleviate a chronic condition such as back pain

  • You’re a beginner, or returning after a long break.  A one-to-one will help your teacher advise you on which classes are suitable for your needs

  • You want individual guidance to help you develop your technique at your own pace

Diagnostic 1-2-1 session

Diagnostic 1-2-1 sessions (45 minutes) are shorter sessions for those who would like some guidance because they are worried about their overall health and/or fitness level. Once assessed, we will recommend suitable class(es) or continuing with 1-2-1s.


Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy 1-2-1 sessions for those with more serious health problems. These might include recovery of strength and confidence after major surgery, support during treatment for a serious or chronic illness or stress-related health concerns. For more information see yoga therapy.


Corporate Yoga

Maya recently had the challenging experience of introducing Yoga in a corporate environment - for 40 people aged 25 -55, most of whom hadn't done any Yoga before. The company seemed to find it useful - they came back for more!
